Aqualyx Fat Loss.

Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections in London

Here at the London Lip Clinic, we are pleased to be able to offer our clients Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injection Treatment. This fat busting procedure enables fat removal from different areas of the face and body. Many men and women have issues with fat in stubborn areas that just won’t shift. Even after losing weight and exercising frequently, they find that the excess fat simply won’t budge. Some people find that undergoing liposuction is too extreme an option to address this issue. This is where Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Treatment comes into play.

Aqualyx Treatment is a much less invasive procedure than liposuction. This fat removal therapy is ideal for use in difficult areas like the buttocks, the stomach, the chin, and the inner and outer thighs. The area being treated is injected with a specially-formulated solution. This treatment works as the solution is able to bind to fatty tissue, breaking it down. The body simply flushes out the broken down fat after treatment.

Unlike liposuction, Aqualyx Treatment is minimally invasive. These fat dissolving injections are often used on a variety of fat deposits all over the body. However, the most popular areas of concern are the stomach, arms, thighs, and chin.

Schedule your AQUALYX TREATMENT consultation or treatment at our Harley Street, London clinic by booking online today. We welcome patients from all over London and nearby areas of London. Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injection is a permanent treatment for fat loss*

What Conditions Can Be Treated With Aqualyx Treatment?

Aqualyx is used to treat excess fat in different areas of the face and body. Typical areas treated are the chin, the area underneath the chin, the stomach, the thighs, the knees, and the buttocks. Fat deposits are removed that are difficult to get rid of with diet and exercise alone.

How Does Aqualyx Work?

The Aqualyx Treatment is administered as injections into the area of concern. This specially-formulated solution works by attaching itself to the fatty deposits. These deposits take time to be broken down. After they are broken down, the body simply flushes them out. The treatment is able to destroy the fat cells by dissolving them. They are then excreted by the lymphatic system.

Aqualyx solution is derived from natural plant-based ingredients. The active component occurs naturally in the body and is therefore extremely safe. Deoxycholic acid emulsifies fats in the target area. The membranes of the fats are dissolved and break down in the area being treated.

When the fat cells break down, the body’s immune system simply flushes them out via the lymphatic system and liver. This treatment is preferable to liposuction as it also tightens the skin, so you won’t have sagging skin once the fat has been removed. The results are more contoured and toned skin in the treated area.

Over the course of a month, Aqualyx is able to break down unwanted fat. The treatment is going to start working as soon as it is injected. Many people have fatty deposits in areas that don’t respond to diet and exercise. These areas are designed to provide the body with the energy needed in difficult circumstances. This means that there are troublesome, unsightly areas which really bother some individuals.

Aqualyx Treatment eliminates tiresome fat deposits while offering body sculpting and contouring. It’s an excellent choice if you aren’t keen to experience the downtime and pain associated with liposuction.

The Benefits of Aqualyx

Aqualyx Treatment is a relatively new aesthetic technique for removing fatty deposits on the face and body. The treatment is highly effective and it offers a less invasive alternative to traditional liposuction. Here is a list of the benefits of having the treatment performed:

1. Safe and Effective

Aqualyx is a safe, natural alternative to traditional liposuction. It’s effective for dissolving fat in unwanted areas of the face and body. The after-effects are fairly minor and there is very little downtime associated with this treatment compared to liposuction.

2. Lasting Results

If you’re looking for a long-term solution for unwanted fatty deposits on the face and body, then this treatment could be just what you’re looking for. The Aqualyx Treatment is known to produce results that last. This means that you can banish fat for good in the areas you’re concerned about.

3. Body Contouring and Tighter Skin

Aqualyx Treatment is effective in producing tightening and contouring effects to the skin in the treated area. With liposuction, there is usually saggy skin in the area that was treated. This problem is easily overcome with Aqualyx.

4. Starts Working Immediately

Once injected, Aqualyx starts working immediately in the treated area. Over time, the unwanted fat is removed by the lymphatic system and the liver. This is the immediate solution when a non-invasive alternative to liposuction is desirable.

Pre-Appointment Care for Aqualyx

To help you to prepare for Aqualyx treatment, buy some Paracetamol in case you need it during or after treatment. It’s a good idea to purchase supportive garments for the area being treated. You’ll find that the support from these types of clothing ensure comfort after treatment. There is likely to be some swelling, so tight jeans aren’t the best option available.

The Process of Aqualyx Treatment

At your free consultation at the London Lip Clinic, we will discuss your concerns with you and ask you about your medical history. This gives us the opportunity to record your weight, give you an examination, and take photographs to record what you look like before the treatment starts.

At your Aqualyx appointment, the area causing concern is marked. Next, we ask you to look in the mirror to confirm that this is the right place. After this, we ask you to lie down on the couch whilst giving us access to the area being treated.

Aqualyx treatment is fast and efficient, and can take from between 15 and 45 minutes. The process takes longer when larger areas are being treated. Generally speaking, there will be multiple injections needed in each problem area. In order for the treatment to be tolerable, an anaesthetic is used.

Treatments can then be repeated every 4 or 6 weeks until all the small pockets of fat are reduced. You can have the treatment administered between two and eight times. The number of treatments you’ll need is going to depend on the number of fat deposits you want to target.

Post-Appointment Care for Aqualyx

After the body is treated with Aqualyx, the local anaesthetic will wear off and you are likely to experience feeling tender in the area that was treated. This is when you’ll find you need to take Paracetamol to manage the pain. It’s recommended to avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications like Aspirin and Ibuprofen. These medications can stop the body from responding well to Aqualyx treatment, and they can reduce the benefits.

Initially, the area that was treated is going to look swollen. Within the first day or two, any swelling is going to double in size. Over the next 7 days, the swelling will go down. In some rare cases this is going to take longer. Swelling is a good indicator that your body is responding to the treatment.

For the first 48 hours post-treatment, the area that was treated is going to look red and feel warm. It’s common to experience some bruising, itching, and fairly minor aches and pains. For up to a month, the skin in the area that was treated is going to feel numb. In rare cases there are symptoms such as hyperpigmentation, diarrhoea and nausea. Women may experience intracycle menstruation as a side-effect of the treatment.

In spite of these effects, you will be able to resume your regular routine a few days after the treatment is complete. We recommend that you avoid resuming your exercise regime for the first 5 days post-treatment. Eating a low calorie, healthy diet helps to increase the treatment’s effectiveness. This can help you to benefit in the long term. When required, a referral to a dietician is advised to provide you with the support you need to keep the weight off. We would like to see you again in a month to 6 weeks to review the treatment and to plan additional treatments when needed.

You are advised to ensure that you remain well hydrated after your Aqualyx Treatment. A low-fat diet is important so that you put less stress on your liver as it processes the fat which is being broken down.  After treatment, you can resume gentle exercise when you feel able.

It’s recommended to avoid exposure to temperature extremes when after Aqualyx Treatment. You’ll need to avoid sunbathing, saunas and steam rooms for a week post-treatment. To improve your body’s response to treatment, keep pinching the area that was treated. This will stimulate it and help the Aqualyx to work properly.

Side-Effects of Aqualyx

The side-effects of Aqualyx include swelling, bruising and pain in the treated area. These effects can last for anything up to six weeks post-treatment. With Aqualyx, there’s a small risk of getting an infection as with many procedures.

Common Questions about Aqualyx Treatment

1. What is the downtime associated with Aqualyx Treatment?

It’s best to take things easy for the first few days post-treatment if you are having treatment in the body. Many people find that they are able to return to work after the treatment is administered when the face has been treated. If you are thinking of having treatment in the face and you sit behind a desk all day, there is likely to be no problem with returning to work after you undergo the procedure. If you are having treatment in the body we recommend that you arrange to have a few days off to rest after your Aqualyx appointment at the London Lip Clinic.

2. How long will my face take to recover?

If you opt to have Aqualyx administered to your face, you’re likely to experience some swelling and discomfort in the area that was treated. Typically, this lasts anything from 5 to 28 days. Once the swelling subsides, there may be some bruising under the skin. This takes about 28 days to go away completely. It’s important to note that any pain or discomfort is minimal when the face has been treated.

3. How long will my body take to recover?

Compared to recovery in the face, recovery in the body is a bit more difficult. As Aqualyx Treatment is more aggressive when the body is being treated, you’ll experience some pain and swelling for a number of days post-treatment. It’s important to start wearing a compression bandage as soon as the procedure is complete.

After a few days, you’ll find that any pain or discomfort from the swelling subsides, and you’ll be left with bruising in the treated area. Typically, the bruising is quite bad, so you’ll probably want to keep the treated area covered. In most cases, patients tolerate the bruising pretty well, along with any downtime, as they are looking forward to seeing great results.

4. How much pain will I have to tolerate?

Aqualyx Treatment is often quite painful for the body but this is not the case when the face is being treated. For the face, the pain is much more tolerable. Whether you are having the procedure in the face or body, a local anaesthetic is used to make the experience of having treatment more bearable.

When the body is being treated, there is going to be pain after the procedure is complete. For this reason, you’ll probably want to go straight home to rest for a few days. When the face receives treatment, this is much easier to tolerate and patients experience no pain or discomfort at all.

5. How do I know how many treatments to have?

The number of treatments you need is going to depend on how much fat there is in the problem area. After the first treatments have been carried out, many people will be able to notice a reduction in fat in the treated areas. Areas such as the chin will need as many as 3 Aqualyx Treatments. Larger areas (like the thighs for example) may benefit from up to 8 treatments. To view our Aqualyx Before and After Photos please visit this page.

6. How long does the treatment last?

If you remain a healthy weight after Aqualyx Treatment, the results you’ll see are as good as permanent. We recommend you continue to live a healthy lifestyle as part of the process of treatment. A poor diet and little or no exercise is the recipe for an unhealthy weight and a disproportionate amount of fatty deposits on the face and body.

7. How safe is Aqualyx?

In the UK, Aqualyx has been CE approved which means that it meets the required safety standards for use. Treatments have been used in 50 countries across the globe and over 2 million procedures have been successfully carried out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Aqualyx is a non-surgical fat dissolving injection treatment. The procedure uses a solution of deoxycholic acid to safely and effectively eliminate small, stubborn pockets of fat which resist diet and exercise. A similar ingredient is found in products available in the USA such as Kybella and Belkyra.
Aqualyx™ will not produce weight loss. The aim of Aqualyx is to reduce only stubborn pockets of fat.

The solution is injected into the fat through a special AQUALYX sharp cannula using a unique trained technique. Usually 2 injection spots are required per region with the amount of product used differing according to the area of fat being treated. Lidocaine can be added to the solution before injecting to improve patient comfort levels; the treatment is relatively painless with a warm sensation, itching, slight burning, slight oedema and reddening appearance for 1-3 days within the treated area. The number of treatments required can vary dependent on the area/amount being treated with as little as 1 or possibly 2 treatments required up to 8; repeat treatments occur every 4 weeks.

The number of Aqualyx treatments is dependent on the personal response of every individual. In general, 2-3 treatments are normal.

There is no evidence of the destroyed fat cells redeveloping after Aqualyx treatment. There is a possibility of remaining fat cells increasing in size if exercise and a sensible diet are not maintained. Hence a healthy lifestyle is a must after the treatment.

Aqualyx is an injectable solution which liquefies fat cells, destroying them for good. The lipids are then released and eliminated naturally by the lymphatic system. Quick, convenient and minimally invasive.

Aqualyx® works by breaking down cell membranes to liquify the fat cell, destroying it permanently, releasing the lipids that are then eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system.

The procedure consists of a set of injections, administered 3-4 weeks apart, whereby Aqualyx® is injected into the targeted area.

  • Stomach (inc. six pack definition)
  • Love handles
  • Arms
  • Chin
  • Flanks and waist
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Underarms and armpits
  • Under-bra area

Rupesh mixes the Aqualyx solution with a small amount of a local anaesthetic drug called lignocaine to make it more comfortable. The needle we use is very fine. Most people describe the procedure itself as a little uncomfortable but not painful. You could take some Paracetamol tablets an hour before treatment if you are concerned.

You can expect swelling in the area after Aqualyx treatment and sometimes significant swelling, for up to 14 days. You may also experience tenderness and bruising, warmth and tingling, small areas of hardness, and itching around the treatment.

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Reddining of Skin
  • Tension Aches & Pains
  • Inflammatory Nodules

Aqualyx is injected into the fat under your chin, with small amounts administered at several points. The number of injections you need will vary according to the amount of excess fat you have. Rupesh will tailor the doses according to your individual need. Local anaesthetic and cooling packs are used to numb the area before treatment.

Most clients need at least two treatments and some will need up to a maximum of six treatments spaced four to eight weeks apart. area.

  • Patients who are pregnant or during lactation
  • Patients with diabetes
  • Patients with allergies against one or more of the contained components
  • Patients with a medical history including anaphylactic reactions and/or severe allergies
  • Patients with an autoimmune disease
  • Patients with acute or chronic skin diseases in the affected area
  • Patients with other severe organic diseases

After a pre-treatment consultation RUPESH will mark out the area of concern. Aqualyx® is mixed with Lidocaine (anaesthetic) before injection for greater comfort and a number of injections in a fan effect make sure the area if fully covered. The elastic needles allow small areas to be tackled effectively such as double chin or jowls.

Kybella & Aqualyx both work by the same mechanism, as both are forms of the same active ingredient.  Deoxycolic Acid is a molecule that occurs naturally in the body and helps us to breakdown and absorb fat in our diet.  Technically, Aqualyx is a modified compound of cholanic acid (which is ever so slightly different from cholanoic acid a.k.a. deoxycholic acid. When injected into the fat cell, it causes it to breakdown and be absorbed.

Kybella is approved for use in the US and not UK.  The approval studies targeted the fat under the chin, so that is the only currently approved use.

  • Keep the treated area free from cosmetics for 12 hours post procedure.
  • Avoid heat and sun exposure.
  • No Swimming, Jacuzzi, Sauna.
  • Abstain from strenuous exercise for 5-7days.
  • Wearing a support garment.
  • Maintain a healthy diet to ensure that energy released from the fatty acids does not subsequently reform fatty deposits elsewhere.

Kybella and Aqualyx and they appear to have a similar mechanism of action and indications for submental fat. However Kybella is administered by a grid like pattern with many small injections while aqualyx is done through a single injection using cannula while moving the needle around ( fanning technique ) depositing the medication
